An example of what goes on behind the curtains of multilingual
project management…
One of our major Clients is a leading international personal
protection equipment manufacturing company. We have been co-operating
with them since 2004, and we dare say that it has become a real
business partnership over the years. We have translated millions
of words for them, from website localization to product descriptions.
They need translations from French into most languages of the
European Union, plus Chinese, Arabic, Norwegian, Russian and Ukrainian.
Most of the time 4-5-6 documents need to be translated at once
into the same or different languages. Our state-of-the-art project
management software helps a lot but we still have to be very precise,
paying attention to the smallest details when preparing the quote.
Multi-lingual translation quotes are always double checked by
another colleague.
Our translators, who have been working on these projects for
several years have already proven their expertise and we can guarantee
that they produce reliable high-quality translations, use the
proper technical terms and CAT tools.
When the translations are ready, we sort them and put them into
separate subfolders named after the languages. The filenames themselves
also get an ending indicating the language _NL, _SE, etc. just
to make sure that the files will not get mixed up.
During and after the project we pay special attention to all
translation requirements both from the Client and our translators
and do our best to answer all questions and resolve ambiguities.
Over the years we gained a wealth of experience in managing multilingual
projects like these and we are ready to share this experience
with you.
